Expert Forums Focus on Future Questions Facing the Energy Industry
E‑world energy & water 2027 is heading into its next edition driven by high demand: Around four months before Europe’s leading trade fair for the energy industry kicks off, 90 percent of the exhibition space is already booked. The industry will gather at Messe Essen from February 16 to 18, 2027. Companies wishing to exhibit can find the remaining available booth spaces in the current floor plan. Ticket sales for visitors have also launched: Tickets for E‑world 2027 are available in the ticket shop.
“The great response to E‑world underscores our position as the key meeting point for the industry. At the same time, we see the immense challenges that companies must face. This is where we step in: With our four forums, we specifically address the questions moving the energy industry right now and in the coming years. The spectrum ranges from technological innovations and new market models to financing, geopolitical shifts, and the protection of our energy infrastructure,” says Stefanie Hamm, Managing Director of E‑world GmbH.
Her fellow Managing Director Sabina Großkreuz adds: “Having already allocated 90 percent of the exhibition space—surpassing the results of the last E‑world—is a strong signal. We are just as thrilled about the trust of our returning exhibitors as we are about the enthusiasm of the many new exhibitors. Our expert forums complement the solutions presented on the exhibition floor by providing the necessary space for guidance and new perspectives.”
On the four conference stages, industry experts will discuss different key topics on each day of the fair. The stages are located in the exhibition halls with free access, and attendance is included in the trade fair ticket.

Tuesday will be dedicated to utility-scale storage, grid connection, and flexibility models under the main theme “Flexibility & Storage.” On Wednesday (“Trading”), capacity markets and renewable energy trading strategies will take center stage, followed by financing models for energy transition projects on Thursday (“Finance”).
Future Forum (Hall 6): Gas Markets, Geopolitics, and Municipal Energy Transition
Tuesday kicks off with “European Gas Markets,” featuring sessions on hydrogen and CO2 market ramp-ups, price trends, and decarbonization. On Wednesday, under the banner of “Geopolitics,” the forum will highlight the impact of geopolitical events on energy markets and security of supply, while Thursday (“Municipal Energy Transition”) is dedicated to municipal heating and local energy transitions.
Resilience Forum (Hall 7): More Resilient Energy Systems and Cities
Strategies to protect critical infrastructure will take center stage on Tuesday as “Resilience Strategies.” Wednesday (“Secure Energy Grids”) will cover power grids and operational reliability, before Thursday addresses urban resilience concepts under the title “Redefining Cities.”
