Day of consulates with participants from 18 countries
E‑world energy & water is presenting itself as more international than ever this year. The second day of the trade fair makes one thing clear: the leading trade fair of the European energy industry has developed into the central meeting place for cross-border exchange. For the first time, more than 30 percent of exhibiting companies come from abroad. At the same time, visitors from over 80 nations are expected on the exhibition grounds in Essen by the close of the fair.
This reflects the growing international interconnectedness of the energy industry. Issues such as security of supply, market design and the transformation towards a climate-neutral energy system are no longer addressed solely at national level, but in a European and global context.
Day of consulates: international perspectives for the energy future
A visible sign of this development is today’s Day of consulates. 54 ambassadors, consuls general, commercial attachés and company representatives from 18 nations used E‑world to learn about current technological and economic developments in the energy sector and to establish new contacts. The dialogue between politics, business and diplomacy underscores the trade fair’s role as a catalyst for cross-border cooperation and projects.
New joint national pavilions strengthen Europe’s presence
The growing international orientation of E‑world is also evident on the exhibition floor: companies come from 33 countries. For the first time, joint national pavilions from Switzerland and the Netherlands are presenting themselves. There, companies pool their expertise and provide insights into national strengths and innovation priorities. In total, 1,134 companies are exhibiting at E‑world this year—another new record.
