LEM Software’s forecasting solutions support energy companies with an extensive model library to accurately predict loads, generation, and prices across different time horizons.
The increasing complexity of energy management processes poses new challenges for energy suppliers, network operators and direct marketers. High data volumes, heterogeneous data sources and increasing demands on forecast quality and transparency make integrated software solutions indispensable. With the LoadManager, LEM Software GmbH provides a central platform that combines energy data management and forecasting processes in a consistent system landscape.
LoadManager enables the structured collection, storage, and processing of large volumes of time series and quantity data. Its modular architecture allows flexible adaptation to individual requirements and provides a reliable foundation for analysis, evaluation, and advanced energy-related processes. Particular emphasis is placed on data quality, traceability, and transparent processing steps, ensuring that companies can use their data consistently and document results reliably.
A central component of LoadManager is the forecasting module. It is based on an extensive library of standardised and advanced forecasting models and combines over 25 years of experience in forecasting by LEM Software. The models take into account relevant influencing factors such as weather data, timetables and prices. Among other things, comparison day and mean value methods, regression models, ARMA and ARIMA approaches, and AI-supported methods are used.
Users can apply the forecasting models either as pre-configured “black-box” solutions or as fully parameterizable expert models. LoadManager supports forecasts across various time horizons – from the rest of the day, day-ahead, and monthly forecasts to long-term annual planning. Forecasts can be generated manually, automatically, or via scheduled jobs, and validated through simulations based on historical data.
For energy suppliers, specialized balancing group forecasts are also available, aimed at achieving high forecast accuracy and reducing balancing energy requirements. Measured customers can be forecasted individually or in aggregated form. Through the close integration of forecasting, energy data management, and other LoadManager modules, a comprehensive platform is created that supports energy companies in both operational and strategic tasks.
