Back to overview

Battery energy storage systems are often seen as an easy way to boost returns by adding flexibility and capturing market opportunities. In reality, BESS projects are technically demanding, economically sensitive, and highly regulated. For investors and operators without BESS experience, this complexity can quickly become a return trap, driven by unclear responsibilities, non-transparent procurement, mispriced revenue models, and limited operational know-how.

At E‑world energy & water 2026 in Essen, Team EDDA will present EDDA.flex, an implementation concept designed to mitigate these risks. Acting as an independent BESS expert, Team EDDA provides end-to-end project delivery with a single point of responsibility – from procurement and construction through commissioning to return accountability during the first 36 months of operation. The concept is based on benchmarks from more than 200 MWh of storage projects and vendor-neutral coordination of all stakeholders.

Two models for different risk appetites

EDDA.flex targets investors building battery storage assets for their own portfolios, supported by optimized procurement, transparent cost structures, and performance-based remuneration.

With EDDA.flex Zero, operators can access storage revenues without investing themselves. Financing, construction, and operation are fully handled by Team EDDA, while operators receive predictable additional revenues with no capex, opex, or operational complexity.
