AI-driven BESS Business Case in minutes: Re-Twin Energy presents digital twins for battery storage projects at E‑world 2026, enabling robust and bankable project evaluations.
Essen/Berlin, January 2026 – Battery energy storage systems (BESS) play a central role in the energy transition. At the same time, the economic assessment of storage projects is becoming increasingly demanding. Volatile market conditions, new regulatory requirements and growing grid connection constraints require robust and transparent business cases in order to make well-founded investment decisions and secure financing.
To address this challenge, Re-Twin Energy has developed an AI-based platform that models stand-alone and co-located battery storage projects as project-specific digital twins. Instead of relying on static Excel models, the platform incorporates real project parameters, including technical configurations, grid connection conditions, temporal constraints, degradation effects and market-specific assumptions.
Within minutes, the platform enables the calculation of different scenarios, the comparison of business cases and the transparent evaluation of key performance indicators. The results are consolidated in a structured report, can be exported as PDF or Excel files, and serve as a basis for financing and investment decisions.
“Grid constraints are shifting the focus away from generic business cases towards truly project-specific modelling. Re-Twin combines historical backtests, live data through Virtual Trading and long-term forecasts up to 2050 to transparently reflect constraints and make project sizes and marketing strategies comparable,” says Dr. Mayur Andulkar, Co-Founder and Head of Product at Re-Twin Energy.
“We see that exactly this level of transparency is often missing in the market. The fact that Re-Twin is already used by more than 500 users – including project developers, municipal utilities and energy suppliers – confirms the strong demand for standardised, project-specific assessments,” adds Florian Heise, Co-Founder and responsible for commercial operations at Re-Twin Energy.
Among the users are companies such as Trianel, Prokon, wpd, badenova, eneco and ecostor. The platform is aimed in particular at teams that want to systematically assess and prioritise BESS projects and accompany them from early development stages to investment-ready decision making.
At E‑world energy & water 2026 in Essen, Re-Twin Energy will present its platform and provide insights into the project-specific evaluation of battery storage projects. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more at the booth about methodological approaches, typical use cases and current market developments.
