  • When precision makes all the difference: DZG Metering launches the new DWH4513 AC meter
Back to overview

DZG Metering presents the DWH4513, a new DIN rail-assembling meter for e-mobility and industry: MID-compliant, highly accurate and with communication capabilities. It has been developed for transparent, calibration-compliant billing in modern charging infrastructures.

For years, DZG Metering has been synonymous with precise, standardised and calibration-compliant electricity measurement. As a specialist partner for charging infrastructure manufacturers, they develop solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems – reliable, interoperable and consistently geared towards the requirements of the energy transition.

With the DWH4513, DZG Metering is expanding its AC portfolio with a high-precision, bidirectional DIN rail meter that has been specially designed for use in electromobility and industrial applications. The meter is used wherever accuracy, transparency and compliance with standards are essential, such as in industrial and building technology, switchgear construction, energy supply and street lighting, and AC charging infrastructure.

The DWH4513 operates within a voltage range of either 3 × 230/400 V AC or 1 × 230 V AC and can handle currents ranging from 0.02 A to 65 A. It complies with EN 50470-3 accuracy class B. Its maximum power consumption of just 1 W and extended temperature range of –40 °C to +70 °C enable reliable operation even in challenging environmental conditions. Bidirectional measurements and software-based cable loss compensation ensure high billing accuracy.

In the field of smart metering, the DWH4513 stands out thanks to its wide range of features designed to ensure transparent billing and compliance with calibration regulations. These include a calibration-compliant logbook, remote firmware updates, a public key displayed as a QR code on the dot matrix display, tariff texts, dynamic pricing models, and customer-specific information displayed directly on the meter. The internal memory can store up to 300,000 charging processes. All OCMF versions from 1.0 to 1.4 are supported, and it is compatible with the S.A.F.E. transparency software. An external DC power supply is also available.

The DWH4513 uses the RS485 (RJ12) protocol, as well as SLIP and Modbus RTU, for communication. The meter is also compatible with the ED-02 external display. This allows billing and measurement data to be displayed conveniently, regardless of the meter’s position within the charging station.

With the DWH4513, DZG Metering emphasises its commitment to developing metering solutions that combine technology, standard compliance and practicality – and offer charging infrastructure manufacturers a reliable basis for transparent, future-proof billing.

DZG Metering will be exhibiting at E‑world Energy & Water in Essen, in Hall 5 at Stand 5E116. The new AC portfolio and other solutions will be presented live on site. Visitors are warmly invited to find out more about the new portfolio and exchange ideas in person.
